DR. MELISSA BURGESS MOSER, Ph.D., L. PSYCH.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Melissa Burgess Moser, Ph.D., L.Psych.

Dr. Burgess Moser has 20 years of experience working in the psychological assessment and treatment of adults. Dr. Burgess Moser works with adults (18 & over) coping with depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Her areas of interest and specialization include the treatment of eating disorders within an adult population, treating adult survivors of childhood abuse, and working with adults who have difficulty connecting to others in close relationships. She also has training and experitise in the treatment of relationship distress using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.

Dr. Burgess Moser's clinical approach is firmly rooted in attachment theory. Attachment theory helps us understand how we relate to ourselves and to others in our closest relationships. This orientation gives her an understanding of clients' emotional needs and distress, and how they can best soothe their pain alone and with others. This attachment foundation is integrated with emotion-focused, somatic, and cognitive based therapies to help clients move toward their therapeutic goals. In addition to using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy with couples, she is also trained in Developmental Couple Therapy for Complex Trauma. This further specialized couple training allows her to help couples heal the emotionally bond between them where one or both members of the relationships have a history of trauma (developmental or adult onset).

She is also trained in several modalities to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma. She is a polyvagal theory informed clinician and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. These somatic approaches allow her a unique understanding of how nervous systems respond to traumatic events, and how to help clients' re-shape their nervous system in their path towards recovery.

Dr. Burgess Moser is currently in full-time private practice with adults and couples in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. She has taught undergraduate classes in the Department of Psychology at Mount Allison University, in Sackville, New Brunswick and graduate classes in the Couple and Family Therapy program in the School of Social Work,McGill, Montréal, Québec, Canada. In 2022 & 2023 she was a clinical consultant in Deb Dana's Foundational Rhythms of Regulation training. Her research has been published in several high-impact academic journals, and she has presented her research in numerous North American conferences.

Ashley Broderick, MSW, RSW

Ashley Broderick, Clinical Social Worker hails from the S'ylix territory, in the Okanagan Valley BC. She has however, called Mi'kmagi home, for over a decade. She honours the sacred territory of the Mi'kmaq people that has become her home and provided her with immense gifts - personally and professionally.

Ashley has practiced as a Clinical Social Worker for over 12 years, providing clinical services to a range of folks, all experiencing a range of challenges. Ashley's approach to psychotherapy is integrative and wholistic. This means that she draws together a range of approaches to support healing on a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual level. Ashley has in-depth training and clinical experience in 'bottom-up' approaches to therapy. This simply means that the nervous system is an integral part of the therapeutic process which ensures that folks are getting the most out of their therapeutic experience.

She engages in ongoing clinical supervision and personal work to address power imbalances and internal biases throughout all realms of her life.
